What is it that drives people to do things.... like complain about menial things.
In the world today, there is so much that needs our attention, so much that matters most. I just don't get it.
Today was a day of hope, happiness, momentum
Don't ruin it for the rest of us who want to move toward the future, to be positive, ready to rise above, ready to feel better about everything.
Take your negative attitude elsewhere, it is not welcome here!

Republican or Democrat?
What are you and why?
I fall into the Democrat range but probably more liberal than anything. I don't get into the whole bickering back and forth about who's right or wrong. Now my husband on the other hand will taunt and tease and send YouTube videos to his friends regarding last nights debates or interviews. Telling them they are crazy for being a Republican and why George Bush SUCKS! For me I have better things to do like take a nap.
Politics have never really interested me. No matter who is in charge I will still have to work, pay my bills, put food on the table and wonder when the war is going to end. The only person that can make my life better or worse is me. Pretty simple I know, but that is how I feel.

So I just have to say....
I am not normally irked by bad customer service, in fact I rarely ever need any service and I am pretty easy going. Yesterday was a different story.
In the local paper there was an advertisement for the grand opening of a new store and there was a form to fill out for a chance to win a gift card. So naturally I filled it out and plotted the day I was going to venture to the store to drop it off.
So Saturday after work I drove out there. I wanted to look around first to see if it was even worth the effort of submitting the entry. I found a few things I liked so I got excited about the opportunity....no, no, the possibility of winning the prize. I searched the store for the box to drop it in. Nothing, you would think it would be up front as you walk in.. nothing, ok. Checked the register area, nope, customer service, no. Ok, so I finally broke down and decided to ask where the box was(it was a defeating feeling because I like to find things myself, I like the hunt) I took out the form and said "are you still"...and without me finishing my sentence she stated "It's in the back where the purple sign is." and with a little attitude. Sooo, ok I go head to the back of the store and there was a red box with a small sign on it. Why would you put this in the back of the store? (I know they want you in the store looking around, I worked in retail) So I shove the entry card in and turn right back around to go to the front door. As I hit the door I hear the same customer service woman say "If I have to tell one more person where that stupid box is..."
It really made me mad. First of all its your job. And maybe, oh, I don't know, move it if you don't want to be bothered doing your job, which by the way, is to serve the customer. I don't know why it made me mad exactly, but it did. Maybe its because it was unprofessional and I would have never said something like that when there were customers around. And with this economy, you should be lucky you even have this job.
It must be a sign, a commercial just ran on tv for this store. I better win! that is all I have to say!

childhood memories
So for the past few years my neighbors have done a beginning/ end of summer camp out with their kids and surrounding neighbors kids. They set-up what they call "tent city" in the backyard. It is actually kind of cool to see all these domed tops rising up like hot air balloons filling with hot air. They have a cook out(and I am sure there are S'mores involved), watch a movie that is projected on the side of a house and play games (ghosts in the graveyard is a favorite) until they all pass out, usually around 9:30. This is such a great idea that I wish, when I was growing up, we did something like this. It is an inexpensive way to have fun and create great memories. I am sure when these kids grow up they'll say "remember when we slept in tents in the backyard? That was a lot of fun"

I KNOW I am not the only one.....
Because there is a blog site about it.
I am obsessed with finding change on the ground.
I never see anyone's face when I am in public, I am too busy looking downward for the slight chance there is something shiny for me to pick up. Ok, honestly, most of the coins are not shiny. Some unrecognizable as currency, but I know what it is. When I am in the car(passenger) I will get out at stop signs, street lights to get my found treasure. I have no shame.
I remember one day I was at the bank drive thru with my husband and I said all excited "I think there is a nickel on the ground!" He says " You won't find money here!" Oh yeah, if not here at a bank, then where? Sure enough it was a SHINY nickel just waiting for me to pick it up and take it home.
So fess up-you know you do the same thing!

Does your dog like the rain?
So all day it has been raining and raining and raining. My puppy will not go out to potty. I told her I couldn't make it stop so she had a choice- go or hold it. She contemplates........ok, I will go but I will not like it. In fact I am going to whimper and hem and haw, and circle around the kitchen first, attempt to step out on the wet patio. No, wait, not ready yet. Oh, ok I can't hold it anymore..Ahhh. Ok. Where is my towel?!? Now I must nap- until next time.
